With the dust settling on Free Agency, David and I waste no time in dissecting the aftermath. From jaw-dropping signings to eyebrow-raising trades, the Free Agency frenzy left no stone unturned. But amidst the chaos, one burning question remains: which teams came out on top, and which ones are left scrambling to salvage their seasons?

Join us as we break it all down, analyzing the landscape of the NFL post-Free Agency. From Super Bowl contenders to teams eyeing the #1 Overall Pick in the 2025 draft, we provide our insights and predictions on the teams after the first phase of the offseason. So, let’s explore the highs and lows of the NFL after Free Agency together, all of the player moves are shown here.

Super Bowl Favorites

Leading the pack are the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and Philadelphia Eagles. These teams have established themselves as the frontrunners in the NFL following an impressive display during Free Agency.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs, fresh off their Super Bowl victory, made significant moves by adding speedster Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to bolster their receiving corps. Additionally, they secured their defense by re-signing defensive end Chris Jones, ensuring continuity on that side of the ball.

2. Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens made waves by adding star running back Derrick Henry to their already dynamic offense. As a Jaguars fan, I can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Henry won’t be terrorizing the AFC South anymore. His departure from the division gives the Ravens an even more formidable ground game to complement their potent passing attack.

3. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers, a perennial force in the NFC, have fortified their roster with the addition of linebacker Leonard Floyd. This strategic move enhances their already dominant defense, ensuring that they remain a force to be reckoned with on that side of the ball. What’s more impressive is that they managed to strengthen their squad without losing any key players, showcasing their savvy management and commitment to sustained success.

4. Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have arguably had the best performance in Free Agency this year, making strategic moves to solidify their roster. Despite the disdain from Giants fans like David, the Eagles have managed to craft one of the most impressive offseasons in recent memory. Adding insult to injury, they snatched away the Giants’ star running back Saquon Barkley, leaving many Big Blue supporters feeling betrayed. Alongside acquisitions like edge rusher Bryce Huff, ILB Devin White, and even backup quarterback Kenny Pickett, the Eagles have rubbed salt in the wound of their rivals, making their offseason success all the more painful for Giants fans to swallow.

Super Bowl Contenders

While the Super Bowl Favorites may steal the spotlight, the Super Bowl Contenders are not to be underestimated. These teams have made significant strides during Free Agency and have positioned themselves as serious contenders for the Lombardi Trophy. With talent, depth, and a hunger for victory, they are poised to challenge the favorites and leave their mark on the upcoming NFL season.

5. Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have been proactive in strengthening their roster during Free Agency. Offensively, they secured their passing game by re-signing wide receiver Tee Higgins and adding running back Zach Moss, tight end Mike Gesicki, and the substantial offensive tackle Trent Brown. These acquisitions provide quarterback Joe Burrow with additional options and protection. On the defensive side, the Bengals addressed their secondary by acquiring safety Vonn Bell and invested into their defensive line with the addition of Sheldon Rankins. These strategic signings aim to reinforce their defense and position them as contenders for the Lombardi Trophy in the upcoming season.

6. Detriot Lions

The Detroit Lions have also been active in Free Agency. Offensively, The Lions re-signed OG Greg Glasgow and signed OG Kevin Zeitler to fortify their offensive line, providing protection for the Jared Goff. On the defensive side, The Lions added DL DJ Reader to strengthen their defensive front, aiming to improve their run defense and apply pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

7. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have made strategic moves during Free Agency. Despite losing WR Gabe Davis, they signed WR Curtis Samuel to fill that gap, while retaining their offensive core. Additionally, the Bills boast Josh Allen as their quarterback, a dynamic playmaker who can lead their offense to success. With Allen at the helm and a solid supporting cast, the Bills are poised to make a strong push as always.

8. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins, also vying for the Lombardi Trophy, have had a robust offseason. They signed TE Jonnu Smith, LB Jordyn Brooks, S Jordan Poyer, EDGE Shaquil Barrett, CB Kendall Fuller, and DT Neville Gallimore to strengthen their roster. These acquisitions aim to provide support for coach Mike McDaniel, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and WR Tyreek Hill. With a reinforced lineup and a strong offseason, the Dolphins are primed to make a serious run at the Super Bowl in the upcoming season.

9. Houston Texans

One of the biggest surprises in this category is the Houston Texans. With QB CJ Stroud showing promise, the return of WR Tank Dell to full health, and the addition of RB Joe Mixon, the Texans have strengthened their offensive arsenal. However, they didn’t stop there, as they focused heavily on improving their defense. They made significant moves by adding LB Azeez Al-Shaair, DL Denico Autry, CB Jeff Okudah, EDGE Danielle Hunter, and DE Foley Fatukasi. With these impactful acquisitions on both sides of the ball, the Texans are poised to make waves in the upcoming season and emerge as serious contenders for the Lombardi Trophy.

Playoff Teams

The Playoff Teams section presents a diverse array of franchises, each with its own unique story and aspirations. From perennial contenders like the Green Bay Packers to up-and-coming squads like the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets, this group encompasses a wide spectrum of teams. The inclusion of rebuilt teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons further adds to the mix, highlighting the league’s competitive landscape. With a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talents, these teams are primed to battle it out on the field and compete for a coveted spot in the playoffs, aiming to etch their names in NFL history.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been active on both sides of the ball during Free Agency. Offensively, the Jaguars re-signed OG Ezra Cleveland and made several key additions to their receiving corps. Despite losing WR Calvin Ridley, they expanded their receiving options by adding WRs Gabe Davis and Devin Duvernay, along with C Mitch Morse to strengthen their offensive line. Defensively, the Jaguars made significant moves by Franchise Tagging EDGE Josh Allen, signing S Darnell Savage and CB Ronald Darby, and making a notable acquisition in DT Arik Armstead. Additionally, they added backup QB Mac Jones to provide depth at the quarterback position. As a Jaguars fan myself, it’s certainly an exciting Free Agency period, with the team making strategic moves to improve across the board.

11. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have undergone significant changes during Free Agency. Despite losing their top receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, the Chargers have embarked on a new chapter with the appointment of head coach Jim Harbaugh. Offensively, they added RB Gus Edwards and TE Hayden Hurst, providing additional weapons for quarterback Justin Herbert. While it may seem like a rebuilding phase, Chargers fans can look forward to seeing Herbert flourish under the guidance of a new head coach who has the potential to unleash his full potential.

12. New York Jets

One of the most intriguing teams in the Playoff Teams category is the New York Jets. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning from his Achilles tear, the Jets are poised for a bounce-back season. Offensively, they made significant moves by adding WR Mike Williams to their receiving corps and addressing the offensive line with the addition of OT Tyron Smith. On the defensive side of the ball, they added DL Javon Kinlaw. With Rodgers leading the charge and key acquisitions in place, the Jets are looking to make a statement in the upcoming season and put themselves back in playoff contention.

13. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers, affectionately known as the “Cheeseheads,” have been active during Free Agency. They added S Xavier McKinney and re-signed RB AJ Dillon, solidifying key positions on their roster. While the departure of RB Aaron Jones may raise concerns for some, the Packers made a significant upgrade by signing RB Josh Jacobs. With QB Jordan Love set for another year as the starter, there’s optimism that he can elevate the team to new heights. As they gear up for the upcoming season, the Packers are poised to make a strong push for the playoffs.

14. Atlanta Falcons

With Kirk Cousins returning from injury, where he has demonstrated his ability as a top 10 quarterback when healthy, the Atlanta Falcons have made significant moves to address their need at the position since Matt Ryan left in 2022. In a weak NFC South division, adding Cousins alongside dynamic wide receivers like Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore strengthens the Falcons’ offensive firepower. With a renewed focus on the offensive side of the ball this offseason, the Falcons are primed to push this upcoming season and compete for a playoff spot.

Potential Wild Cards

The Potential Wild Cards section features teams on the bubble of making the playoffs, eager to secure a spot in the postseason. With the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks, and New Orleans Saints among them, these squads possess the talent and potential to make a significant impact. However, they must navigate a competitive landscape to secure their playoff berth. With a blend of seasoned veterans and promising talents, these teams are ready to challenge for a potential playoff birth.

15. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns, or as we call them, the Cleveland Poop Stains, had a productive free agency period. They added EDGE Za’Darius Smith, LB Jordan Hicks, and LB Devin Bush to fortify their defense. On the offensive side of the ball, they acquired WR Jerry Jeudy via trade to enhance their receiving corps. Additionally, they signed backup QB Jameis Winston to provide depth at the quarterback position. With these strategic acquisitions, the Browns are may be on the inside looking out, but we can’t give them that credit, sorry.

16. Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams face a daunting challenge with the retirement of Aaron Donald, which may signal a downhill spiral for the team. They made efforts to strengthen their offensive line by signing OGs Jonah Jackson and Kevin Dotson. Additionally, they added TE Colby Parkinson to their roster. However, the void left by Donald’s departure presents a significant obstacle for the Rams to overcome. Head coach Sean McVay will undoubtedly face a tough task in navigating the team through this transition period.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers

One of the most surprising offseasons belongs to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The addition of LB Patrick Queen and CB Donte Jackson significantly enhances their defense. However, it’s the moves on the offensive side of the ball that truly stand out. The Steelers made headlines by acquiring not one, but two starting quarterbacks from the 2023 season. They signed Russell Wilson to be the starter and traded for Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears. This dual acquisition aims to solidify the Steelers’ quarterback position, which has been a void since Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement. Giving Fields the opportunity to learn behind Wilson may turn out to be one of the best moves of the offseason.

18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a relatively quiet offseason, focusing on retaining key players rather than making splashy acquisitions. They re-signed QB Baker Mayfield and WR Mike Evans to maintain stability on offense. Defensively, they secured the services of S Antoine Winfield Jr. and LB Lavonte David, ensuring continuity and leadership on that side of the ball. While their offseason may not have been filled with headline-grabbing moves, retaining key players bodes well for their competitiveness. With a solid roster intact, the Buccaneers remain a formidable contender in the NFC South, and they may secure a playoff berth without surprising anyone.

19. Seattle Seahawks

One of the biggest losses for the Seattle Seahawks is the departure of head coach Pete Carroll. Coming off a surprising year, this season poses many uncertainties for the team. While they made a trade for QB Sam Howell from the Washington Commanders, their offseason moves were relatively quiet, with the addition of DL Leonard Williams being the standout. The Seahawks appear to be in a rebuilding phase this year, but they remain a team that cannot be overlooked. With potential and determination, they are a wildcard team that could still make an impact in the upcoming season.

20. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are in the conversation for a wild card spot, largely due to their defense and being in the non-competitive NFC South division. However, the Saints’ success may hinge on the performance of their quarterbacks. If the quarterback play is underwhelming again, they could struggle to generate offense. Nevertheless, with their stingy defense, the Saints are expected to remain competitive in tight games throughout the season.

Missing Playoff Teams

The Missing Playoff Teams category comprises squads that lack the necessary firepower for a playoff run this season. These teams, including the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants, face significant challenges in competing at a high level. With various roster deficiencies and uncertainties, it’s unlikely that these teams will be able to mount a successful playoff campaign. While they may still pose a threat in individual matchups, the overall outlook for their postseason aspirations appears bleak.

21. Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears stand out as the top of this class, marking a significant win for the franchise. They have emerged as one of the most improved teams heading into the 2024 season. With all indications pointing towards selecting QB Caleb Williams as the #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, the Bears have made strategic moves to build around him. Adding RB D’Andre Swift, TE Gerald Everett, and WR Keenan Allen, they are focused on setting up their future quarterback for success. Additionally, the defense received a boost with the signings of S Kevin Byard and S Jonathan Owens. With these key acquisitions, the Bears are poised to make strides in the upcoming season and position themselves for future success.

22. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders had an offseason that, if it were 2021, would be hailed as the number one offseason in the NFL. They made additions on both sides of the ball, adding RB Austin Ekeler, QB Marcus Mariota, TE Zach Ertz, and C Tyler Biadasz to “improve” their offense. Defensively, they brought in DE Dorance Armstrong, LB Frankie Luvu, EDGE Clelin Ferrell, LB Bobby Wagner, and DE Dante Fowler Jr. While many of these players may be past their prime, the Commanders signed a plethora of experienced veterans in the hopes of giving their fans something to cheer about and moving past the negative media attention from the recent past.

23. Minnesota Vikings

A team that may have fallen without a quarterback at the helm is the Minnesota Vikings. Despite their efforts to focus on the defensive side of the ball by adding EDGE Jonathan Greenard, LB Blake Cashman, and EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel, and on offense acquiring RB Aaron Jones. The addition of Sam Darnold fails to instill fear in opposing teams. In the NFL, passing still reigns supreme, and it’s concerning that the Vikings lack a quality quarterback despite having a talented receiving corps and a top-tier receiver in Justin Jefferson. This year may spell heartbreak for the purple people eaters.

24. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders are hoping to replicate the Dan Campbell experience under their head coach Antonio Pierce. However, this offseason may not have provided the boost they were hoping for. Competing in a tough division, the Raiders’ current starting quarterback is Gardner Minshew, and their only other notable addition on offense is RB Alexander Mattison. The atmosphere in Vegas may resemble a casino clock, signaling to fans when it’s time to leave the game and hit the tables. While DL Christian Wilkins is a solid addition, it may not be enough to compete against the likes of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

25. New York Giants

The New York Football Giants’ offseason has been a topic of debate, with David believing that they improved on the defensive side of the ball, a sentiment I would agree with. However, losing their best player in Barkley is not an ideal start. While giving a massive contract to DE Brian Burns does make this defense better, and adding offensive linemen OG Jon Runyan and OT Jermaine Eluemunor may help protect Daniel Jones from running around like a chicken with his head cut off. The biggest issue for the Giants now is identifying a playmaker who strikes fear into opponents and forces defensive adjustments. With the departure of Saquon Barkley, the team has lost that dynamic threat, and this may lead to another disappointing season for G-Men fans.

Mediocre at Best

The “Mediocre at Best” category comprises teams that are not expected to make significant strides and may ultimately fall flat on their faces. These teams, including the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, and New England Patriots, face considerable challenges in competing at a high level. With various roster deficiencies and uncertainties, it’s unlikely that these teams will be able to mount a serious playoff push.

26. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts began their offseason by re-signing WR Michael Pittman Jr. and adding DL Grover Stewart and LB Zaire Franklin to ehance their defense. However, the biggest question mark looms over QB Anthony Richardson’s health. With immense potential, Richardson needs to change how he throws his body around to stay on the field and out of the medical tent. If he manages to do so, the Colts may have a chance to compete. However, if he fails to stay healthy, they could end up with one of the worst records in the NFL.

27. Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans made a big splash by adding RB Tony Pollard and WR Calvin Ridley, though the latter move left many scratching their heads. The decision not to re-sign A.J. Brown due to his high price tag, only to give an older receiver more money, raised eyebrows. Additionally, the Titans added CB Chidobe Awuzie and OL Lloyd Cushenberry. However, in a league where success hinges on the quarterback position, the Titans may find themselves on the decline under the leadership of Will Levis. While Levis shows potential, it may take another year or two before he can truly elevate the team, especially under a new head coach.

28. New England Patriots

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. A team that once boasted the greatest quarterback of all time and the best coach in NFL history now finds itself without a quarterback to rely on. Regardless of the moves made this offseason, none were significant enough to make a substantial difference. We are witnessing the decline of the Patriots, marking the end of an era. While this may bring joy to some across the NFL, it’s also a somber realization as we bid farewell to a dynasty that once dominated the league.

#1 Pick Contention

It’s #1 pick contention time, and two teams stand out as the bottom of the barrel. The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals don’t have much hope for the upcoming season and are likely to be fighting to secure the #1 overall pick in next year’s draft. With their eyes set on rebuilding for the future, these teams may prioritize strategic losses to improve their draft position. While the exact outcome remains uncertain, it’s clear that the Broncos and Cardinals will face significant challenges as they navigate through the season.

29. Denver Broncos

The Denver Dumpster Fires, as some may call them, have shown that the Seahawks knew what they were doing in parting ways with Russell Wilson. With Sean Payton at the helm, doubts persist about whether he has the answer to their quarterback woes. The Broncos have failed to add anyone notable to improve the team, and the loss of Jeudy has pushed them firmly into rebuilding mode. Frankly, many are content with this direction, as it signals a necessary reset for the struggling franchise.

30. Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals organization leaves much to be desired, and not in a positive light. Despite adding good players, it’s simply not enough to turn the tide. With Kyler Murray at quarterback, expectations remain uncertain. The team appears to be stuck in perpetual rebuilding mode, a process that has dragged on for five long years. At this rate, it seems the Cardinals will continue to rebuild until the NFL introduces relegation or adds the UFL to provide them with a fresh start in a new league altogether.

Young but Intriguing

31. Carolina Panthers

Unironically, we have the Carolina Panthers led by Bryce Young in the “Young But Intriguing” category. This is the team that leaves us at a loss for words—they could be great, or they could be terrible. With a quarterback like Young leading the charge, the Panthers embody uncertainty mixed with potential. It’s a wait-and-see situation with Carolina, as they navigate the unpredictable waters of NFL competition.

F Them Cowboys

32. Dallas Cowboys

We don’t mince words when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. “F Them Cowboys” sums up our sentiment perfectly. Their dismal offseason, marked by the loss of their star running back and a lackluster showing in acquisitions, brings a sense of satisfaction to many. After all, seeing the Cowboys falter is a joyous occasion for those who don’t count themselves among their fans. With little to boast about in terms of offseason moves, the Cowboys find themselves squarely in the crosshairs of disdain from football enthusiasts everywhere.

That wraps up our comprehensive breakdown of the NFL Tier List after the Free Agent Frenzy. From SB Favorites to the dreaded “F Them Cowboys,” we’ve covered it all. As we eagerly await the start of the new NFL season, there’s one thing for certain: the excitement and unpredictability of football never fail to captivate us. Stay tuned for more insights, analysis, and perhaps a few hot takes as the season unfolds. Until next time, keep your eyes on the gridiron, and may the best team prevail!
